You have a spark
it quickly fades
You try to pick it up
to cradle it
Yet it burns so bright
it quickly fades as you embrace
You must release your spark
for if you hold onto it
The spark fades as it crystallises in time
sparks: quintessentially ephemeral
Sparks exist to burn and shine bright
to stand out and be seen
For how can a spark be noticed
if it perpetually lingers?
From your latest spark
you form the idea
Your notion encoded in…

I’ve often considered
that cats
are little Buddhas
cloaked in fur.
A posit somewhat odd, perhaps
so let me break it down for you.
A monk spends their life
pursuing Nirvana
treading the metacosm
between the ephemeral
human world below
and the interminable plane
above and all around
We don’t want to fall down
lest we become
a Hungry Ghost
or worse
without hope
of Enlightenment or break from
Samsara
Equally
we don’t wish to ascend
to a Demigod
or neither higher
over contented
perpetually warring
with…

Looking out the insulated glass window
onto the world below
like peering through water
struggling in poor visibility
Matter hanging
suspended in air
still unwavering
with no sign of an apparent tide, ebb or flow.
To wash
and be able
to see the world
once more.
Peering closer
pressing against the window
through my viewport
onto the grimy street below
You spot a disturbance
in the spacetime continuity
notice the distinct resemblance
of something amiss
I cannot place my finger on it
yet, I know
beneath the…
When lockdown struck back in March, my booked face-to-face networking events gradually cancelled one after the other. I work out of dedicated desk space in a local office community. For many writers in a similar position to me, I expect that networking was indeed a primary point of contact with colleagues as well as an entry point and lifeline to the wider business community.
I was saddened when events I had circled in my diary, and others that I made regular appearances to, were not going ahead (of course, I understood why though). …
Digital assets and cryptocurrencies have moved on from a once counterculture movement that was largely in response to the financial crisis of 2008 to become a central component of the financial services industry. Indeed, so far 2020 has seen over 779 billion digital payments processed globally and this number is forecast to exceed one trillion within the next two years.
Online payments operator, PayPal, recently detailed its plans for releasing a digital wallet to consumers next year. The UK’s central bank, Bank of England, released its first report last month in conjunction with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). The…
2020 has seen change across the board. First oil prices tumbled and then the transportation industry ground to a halt as demand for virtual working solutions soared. Delays in the rollout of the latest tech and communications solutions compounded this change. 5G rollout slowed and electric car production dropped as top industry names including Tesla furloughed staff and slashed salaries.
Yet, amidst recent upheaval optimism always seems to shine through even the darkest of clouds. Many manufacturers shunned the potential drop in demand for electric vehicles (EV) caused by the initial slowdown in automobile production and use. …

The slog; your boss
your surrogate father, essentially
your colleagues; your elder siblings
Squabbling, bickering, fighting at their daily races
but, this is not yours; you can hack it, deal with it
bide your time and invest your right moment
Thirty, thirty five, forty, forty five, fifty five
a pointless digit; your vocation shines, when the time is right
offer yourself dedication, commitment and discipline above all else
To yourself
not others.
Drop your keys on the sideboard
weary with back arched, aching at the shoulders and…
